Not Your Average Disney Princess
, 09 25th, 2008One of the most well known female figures in the Disney arsenal remains the fairy in “Peter Pan,” Tinkerbell. Aside from being a fairy, she is quite different from the other Disney Princesses. For example, Tinkerbell is often quite stubborn and jealous. She does not have a perfect and porcelain veneer. At the same time, she’s opinionated and strong as well as loyal. She makes for an interesting role model to young girls, because she actually displays human faults.
Her various adaptations in film have played up different characteristics. Perhaps best known is the Julia Roberts live action version in “Hook.” Roberts played her as a kind of trickster but still extremely lovable.
By virtue of her continued popularity and intrigue, Tinkerbell has become one of the most iconic figures for Disney. Her face can be found on everything from tee shirts to rings to bed sheets. If your child loves Tink, consider making the lovable fairy a part of her room through a Tinkerbell ceiling fan.
